Eendracht

The Eendracht focuses itself especially on youngsters, but anybody is welcome to sail along! Who sails with the Eendracht experiences more than just sailing at sea. Feel the power of teambuilding and broaden your horizon. Enjoy the spirit at sea together. Experience how sailing on this three-masted schooner is more than just travelling the oceans. See how the Eendracht brings people of all ages further in their development. Each and every time!

The foundation ‘Het Zeilend Zeeschip’ (‘The Sailing Sea ship’) exploits the Eendracht. Especially youngsters are given the opportunity to explore the sea, working together as a team and advancing their perseverance. The stimulation and guidance of youth has been the goal ever since the foundation started, and is widely supported. Sailing at sea as a team is not only character building, but also contributes to solidarity.

The Eendracht is built and equipped to sail at sea with young and inexperienced people. Teaching on board is one of the many possibilities. Naturally the crew has had special training to sail with this target group. Many varieties are offered for youngsters to sail along, one of them is during the Tall Ships’ Races.

After two years of preparations involving an estimated 13,760 hours of voluntary effort, Waterford successfully hosted The Tall Ships Races 2011 from June 30-July 3.
It’s estimated that 500,000 people enjoyed the spectacle in the city and along the Suir Estuary. To all those individuals and organisations that made this huge international event possible and to the people of Waterford who embraced the occasion brilliantly – thank you. To those who visited Waterford, we look forward to welcoming you back soon and invite you to visit www.discoverwaterfordcity.ie to keep up-to-date on what’s happening in Ireland’s oldest city. To the sail training family at the heart of The Tall Ships Races, we look forward to your return!
